ATTENTION ENGLISH IV STUDENTS!

It is now November. Some of you slacked off while I have been home battling tonsilitis this week. Well, I am back and in rare form! You need to have started your project! Tell me--what have you done? What are you waiting for? And don't give me that "I have another month" line. What are you going to be saying in 4 weeks? Please give me an extension? Not going to happen! Tell me what you have done so far. Ask me questions. Let's go!

Time has flown by. This project is definitely not easy, but its lessons will have long-lasting ramifications. We have five class periods left to finish the play. Three of thos will be mine--reading and note-taking, etc. The other two are all yours. But all of you should be doing stuff at home all the time. Many students are almost finished! Good for you! Its all about time management and planning ahead. This is a good lesson to learn now so you don't fail it next year in college.

I'm very glad to read that. This wasn't supposed to be a painful experience, but definitely a memorable one--which I think it will be. What play will you always remember reading? Definitely this one.

The most important lesson I want you to take with you is this---procrastination will only cause you undeserved stress. And while some things may seem impossible, once you start to tackle the task peice by peice, then its usually a peice of cake.

What have you learned from this portfolio assignment?
